The Edgerton Community Fund was created by and for the Edgerton Community to keep Edgerton a thriving place, able to support its people in need and maintain a quality of life which encourages a love of culture, education, the arts, and the land.

What is the Edgerton Community Fund?

The Edgerton Community Fund:

    • Is a means for current and former residents to build a permanent endowment to serve the Edgerton area.
    • Provides current and future generations a way to support their most creative thinking as they address the changing needs within the Edgerton community.
    • Supports projects and programs in the Arts, Education, Environment, Health & Human Services, and Historic Preservation.
    • Provides a way for individuals, organizations, and businesses to support their charitable interests.

Why have an Edgerton Community Fund?

Think of the Edgerton Community Fund as a "nest egg" for Edgerton. Most of us are taught at a very early age the importance of saving a portion of our financial resources for a "rainy day" or for future retirement. The Edgerton Community Fund is like a savings account for the community. Gifts to the fund will grow year after year and will directly benefit Edgerton today and tomorrow For good. For ever.

How does the Edgerton Community Fund work?

In partnership with the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin, a 501 (c) 3 public charity, donors to the Edgerton Community Fund are able to take full advantage of their deductible contributions. While having its own identity, the Edgerton Community Fund enjoys the many services, cost savings, and stronger growth potential through the Community Foundation.

Anyone can use the Edgerton Community Fund to give something back to the community. Large gifts or small, every gift counts! Gifts to the Edgerton Community Fund are pooled with all assets of the Community Foundation in local trust companies and banks.

How does the money go back to the Community?

Financial awards from the Fund are made to the community through an annual grant application process, or as a response to a community need.

 

 

Who oversees the Edgerton Community Fund?

Independent of local government, a nine member volunteer board, made up of community members encourages the growth of the Fund and oversees distributions in the form of grants.
